Loughton chart-topping classical soprano Joanna Forest added to her collection of classical number ones at the weekend.

Royal composer Olga Thomas, who created new single By My Side, and Joanna were both delighted to reach the top spot on the day of release - knocking none other than Ed Sheehan off the top of the iTunes Classical charts.

The song has been written for Cruse Bearvement Charity to celebrate 60 years of the charity's amazing work. All proceeds from the single go to the charity. Since 1959 the Cruse vision is that all bereaved people have somewhere to turn when someone dies.

Joanna is no stranger to being at the top of the classical charts. Olga Thomas and Joanna have celebrated a previous number one for Cruse with the single Royal Platinum Love Song, which commemorated the Queen and Prince Phillip's 70th wedding anniversary.

Joanna also made chart history when she became the first independent artist to reach the number one spot in the Official Classical Charts with a debut album, with Stars are Rising in 2017, and this year celebrated another top spot hit with classical family album The Rhythm of life.

By My Side is out now, and all proceeds go to Cruse Bereavement Care.
