A 'Fry-tfully delicious' ice-cream

8:14pm Thursday 30th October 2008

An ice-cream firm is making a special batch of a flavour created by actor Stephen Fry so he can tuck into a tub at home.

Fry visited the Ben & Jerry factory in Vermont while filming Stephen Fry In America and was allowed to create a flavour for a public tasting session.

"I do love vanilla," he declared as he added chocolate chunks and walnuts to vanilla ice-cream.

He said he liked the way the chocolate was in chunks rather than small pieces and said walnuts would add "a touch of sophistication".

When he first created it, Fry described the flavour as "marvellous" and said it gave "that feeling of comfort that ice-cream delivers".

Fry can now enjoy the flavour, named Even Stephens, in the comfort of his own home after the firm made a batch to send to him.

The special tub describes the taste as "Fry-tfully delicious".
