The Flaming Lips kick off Belsonic

The Belsonic music festival has kicked off.

The three-day event in Belfast features top acts such as the Zutons, the Enemy and Reverend and the Makers.

Monday's headliners were Oklahoma band the Flaming Lips, who have a 25-year history and a string of UK and European hit singles .

They are known for their psychedelic arrangements and elaborate live shows.

The final two days are on Thursday and Friday, with the Zutons closing the programme.

Hundreds of fans packed into the Custom House Square venue in the city's Cathedral Quarter.
