Tottenham Hotspur defender Kevin Wimmer has been linked with a move to Southampton.

National reports claim that Spurs are willing to sell the Austrian international this summer, who has struggled to nail down a regular place in the North London side’s starting line-up since signing from Cologne in 2015.

The 24-year-old made just ten appearances in all competitions for Spurs last season and Southampton are now thought to be interested in signing the defender. However, they are unwilling to pay Tottenham’s asking price of £20m, according to reports.

The Saints are apparently looking to bolster their defence this summer and see Wimmer as a potential partner for Virgil Van Dijk at centre-back.
