Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas is looking to oversee Spurs' first win at Old Trafford since December 1989

Preview: Man United v Tottenham Preview: Man United v Tottenham

Head coach Andre Villas-Boas will be trying to break a 23-year winless streak at Old Trafford when Spurs meet Manchester United on Saturday.

His side go into the game on an upturn in form having remained unbeaten for six games after losing to Newcastle on the opening day of the league season.

Spurs will be without Younes Kaboul, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Scott Parker but Kyle Naughton may return.

Ade Adebayor is unlikely to recover in time from a hamstring strain meaning in-form Jermain Defoe will once again start, as will Brad Friedel at the expense of disgruntled French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Wayne Rooney is available again for Manchester United but may not make the starting line-up.

Antonio Valencia is doubtful after suffering an ankle injury last weekend.
