Lloris could make his debut
Andre Villas-Boas could name an unchanged side from the team that beat Reading at the weekend for his first Europa League match against Lazio tomorrow night.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto is ruled out with a knee injury meaning Kyle Naughton is likely to continue at left-back.
There is a chance though that Jan Vertonghen could move across to full-back, where he has played for Belgium, making way for either Michael Dawson or Steven Caulker to deputise with William Gallas at centre-half.
Scott Parker has not recovered yet from an ankle injury and Jake Livermore is out with a groin strain meaning Sandro, Mousa Dembele and Tom Huddlestone will compete for the two starting spots in central midfield.
Emmanuel Adebayor is ruled out with a hamstring injury leaving in-form Jermain Defoe to spearhead the attack.
The Tottenham boss may use the occasion to initiate new signings and there is a possibility therefore that Hugo Lloris could make his debut in goal instead of Brad Friedel while Clint Dempsey is also available.
