TOTTENHAM appear to be losing the race to sign Bolton wonderkid Jack Sampson, as it emerged that Manchester United and Manchester City had stolen a march on the other interested clubs.
Sky Sports claim that Spurs – along with Newcastle – are big fans of the 15-year-old striker, who is one of the brightest prospects in the English game. But it is Sir Alex Ferguson and Mark Hughes who seem to be slugging it out for the player's signature.
Sampson will not leave school until next year and has yet to decide where his future will be, although that decision is likely to be made in the next few weeks, sparking a fury of activity from all interested parties.
Sampson, who already stands at 6ft tall, is an England youth international and all the signs suggest he will be one to look out for in the future.
