Tottenham Hotspur full-back DeAndre Yedlin has joined Sunderland on a season-long loan, as expected.
The American international made just one appearance for Spurs last season having joined from Seattle Sounders last summer.
The 22-year-old is down the pecking order at White Hart Lane with Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier both ahead of him in the battle for the right-back spot.
Spurs’ next match is against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light after the international break, which Yedlin will be ineligible for.
With Sunderland’s regular right-back Adam Matthews injured though, it is thought Yedlin will play a prominent role for the Black Cats.
Yedlin has made 23 appearances for the USA and played at last summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
