Tottenham Hotspur’s Nacer Chadli wants fellow countryman Christian Benteke to join him at White Hart Lane.

Talking to Sky Sports News, Chadli urged the Aston Villa striker to team up with him and fellow Belgium internationals Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele at White Hart Lane.

The winger said: “I hope it’s going to happen but first they have to attract him and they have a lot of clubs who want him and Christian has to make his choice. Hopefully he’s going to choose us.”

Tim Sherwood’s side will offer the striker a new deal to stay at Villa Park but Benteke’s agent was reportedly recorded saying that the 24-year-old “will do whatever is possible legally” to leave the club.

Should the forward decide to leave, he will be hot property around Europe having scored 49 goals in 99 Aston Villa appearances.

Chadli also said he would welcome fellow Belgians, Radja Nainggolan of Roma, and Athletic Madrid’s Toby Alderweireld to north London.

The latter impressed on loan at Southampton in the Premier League last season.
