Tottenham Hotspur captain Younes Kaboul is edging closer to a move to Serie 'A' side Roma, according to Sky Italia.
Despite being appointed as captain in the summer by head coach Mauricio Pochettino, the French defender has struggled for regular game time, making just 11 Premier League starts this season.
The 29-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane by the Argentine, with Vlad Chiriches, Jan Vertonghen and Federico Fazio preferred to the former Portsmouth and Auxerre centre-back.
Sky Italia report Roma are interested in signing Kaboul on loan, whereas Spurs would like a clause inserted obligating the Giallarossi to sign the defender permanently in the summer.
