Tottenham Hotspur are close to signin Paris St Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a six-month loan deal, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 19-year-old French midfielder is highly thought of at the Parc de Princes, but has made just four league starts for PSG this season after falling behind the likes of Yohann Cabaye, Blaise Matuidi and Marco Verratti.

And Spurs could be the club to benefit, with a six-month loan deal understood to be close to completion.

A French youth international, Rabiot spent a few months at Premier League side Manchester City in 2008 before returning to his homeland to re-join Creteil's youth setup for a third time.

After leaving Creteil for PSG in 2010, Rabiot made his league debut against Bordeaux in August 2012. He spent time on loan at Toulouse during the second half of the 2012/13 campaign before returning to Les Parisiens.
