Spurs are interested in Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck, according to the Daily Mail.

Welbeck, 23, has made just 13 Premier League starts for the Red Devils this season, becoming increasingly frustrated by his peripheral role.

The England international has two years left on his contract at United, but is disgruntled at finding himself behind the likes of Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez in the pecking order.

Tottenham are keen to bolster their striking options, with Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane the only forwards at club.

Whilst Adebayor has thrived since being brought in from the cold by Tim Sherwood, club record signing Soldado has scored just six Premier League goals in 22 starts this term.
