Tottenham are considering a potential loan swap with Fulham that would see Dimitar Berbatov return to White Hart Lane and Lewis Holtby go in the opposite direction.
Spurs are keen to offload Holtby, at least on a temporary basis, but his £75,000-a-week wages have put off several suitors.
Fulham however remain keen on the German midfielder and a deal could be done involving Berbatov, who chairman Daniel Levy is keen to secure until the end of the season.
Berbatov himself currently earns £80,000 a week at Craven Cottage and Fulham would want Tottenham to cover all the Bulgarian's wages.
