Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Edgar Davids feels Christian Eriksen will become a bargain for Spurs

Christian Eriksen may have cost Tottenham Hotspur an £11.5 million fee but former Spurs and Ajax midfielder Edgar Davids believes that is a bargain price for the young Dane.
Eriksen joined Ajax’s Academy in 2008 and broke into the first team two years later. He went on to make 161 appearances for the club, scoring 33 goals and assisting a further 66.
The 21-year-old helped the Dutch club win three consecutive Eredivisie titles and has been capped 37 times for Denmark.
Davids, who is player/head coach at Barnet, is a graduate of the Ajax Academy and also spent two seasons as a Spurs player.
He feels Eriksen can shine in the Premier League, if he is played in his favoured role behind the striker.
“I think he has to play as the number 10,” Davids said.
“I rate Eriksen very highly. I just hope they (Tottenham) use him in the position he knows best, because if you use him in that position it will be a lot of fun.”
The former Dutch international continued: “If his potential comes out it will be a bargain. I think he will do well - I am confident he will do well,”
“If Eriksen can do what he has been doing with Ajax, and do what he does best, he is going to be a bargain and it’s going to be a very good season for Tottenham.”
