Andre Vilas-Boas watched his former club Porto in the Champions League last night sparking rumours that Tottenham will make a fresh bid for Portuguese play-maker Joao Moutinho.

The 26-year-old played under Villas-Boas when they won the Primeira Liga and the Europa League two seasons ago.

Spurs tried to sign Moutinho during the summer, but were not able to get a deal done on deadline day.

The Portuguese midfielder has been in fine form at the start of this season with eight assists and two goals already to his name.

The visit by the Tottenham boss has reopened speculation about Moutinho with the January transfer window fast approaching.
