RUGBY UNION: Pirates plunder on tour

| The touring party gets ready for the off |
ENFIELD Ignatians under-12s and under-13s adopted a Hail The Pirates theme for their recent tour of East Anglia.
And the under-13s plundered aplenty by winning all three of their fixtures.
However, the side could so easily have walked the plank against a strong Wymondham outfit, but for a tremendous last-ditch tackle from Henry Pritchard which was crucial in securing a 27-26 win.
Pritchard also claimed on of Ignatians' five tries, with the others scored by Andrew Linskey, Ryan Browne, Ben Williams and Aaron Doe. Paul Duke played his part by adding two crucial conversions.
The tour began on a positive note with a 25-22 win over Lowestoft & Yarmouth.
The visitors ran in five tries via Doe, Sam Bucknall, Kealan Foye, Tim O'Toole and Ciaran Savage.
And they scored 11 tries against a spirited Beccles side to run out 59-31 winners in their second match.
Savage, Linskey, Doe and Browne each claimed a brace with Duke, Miles Wotherspoon and Tim O'Toole completing the rout.
Under-12s coach Steve Renny, one of six coaching staff to make the trip, said: "We were very well served by the weather, and a great time was had by all."
Renny's protégés drew their opening fixture against Lowestoft & Yarmouth three tries all.
Ethan Renny, Sam Pennicott and Jack Wolthers crossed the line for the visitors.
The side stepped up a gear in a round-robin tournament featuring Beccles and Broadlands, by defeating the former five tries to two.
Ethan Renny claimed a sparkling hat-trick with Jack Wolthers and Jack Ciltrap completing the haul.
However, tournament winners Broadlands proved too strong for Ignatians and ran-out six tries to three winners.
It was another successful tour for Ignatians' juniors, with the organisation of Harold Pritchard and Stephen O'Toole proving key.
