Sarries chief executive Edward Griffiths is convinced their Heineken Cup clash at Vicarage Road this weekend would have sold out if it did not immediately follow their Wembley clash with Harlequins.
Saracens have sold more than 11,000 tickets for their home clash with Clermont Auvergne on Sunday in the last eight of the Heineken Cup. A new club world record was set last weekend at Wembley when 83,761 watched Sarries' defeat.
Griffiths said: “I think if we hadn’t had Wembley there is no doubt we would have sold out Vicarage Road for this game as we sold out our Heineken Cup quarter-final four years ago. With two big games back to back, it’s been difficult but the sales are brisk.”
If they reach the semi-finals it will take place at Twickenham on Sunday, April 29.
