Enfield Town have had to face two more departures this week as Scott Shulton and Samir Bihmoutine have followed Nathan McDonald and Bradley Quinton to Braintree.

Shulton was a key factor in Town’s historic 2016/17 season, being a driving force in their quest to make the play-offs for the first time in the Ryman Premier League.

The midfielder took to social media and said: “I would like to thank everyone at Enfield Town Football Club for the time I spent at the club.

“Sadly I wanted to tell you that I will be moving on and that this has been a really hard decision, especially due to the fact that the club and the Enfield Town fans have been so amazing to me this past season.

“From a personal point of view, this season has been a hard one for me.

“I would like to thank everyone at the club, the fans, all the players, the board and certainly not forgetting Neil the kit man for putting up with me and dragging me through it all.

“I’m sure the club will secure their promotion this season and get to where they deserve to be.

“Good luck I will miss you all. Shults.”

Bihmoutine was also a shining light during the campaign and The Towners twitter account thanked both players and wished them well.

Elsewhere, Town have announced their pre-season schedule in preparation for their 2017/18 season league campaign.

More than two weeks ago, the club named Andy Leese and Darren Purse as their new manager and assistant manager following the exit of Quinton, and the duo have been busy planning ahead.

Their first friendly will take place against Amersham Town on Saturday, July 15 away from home with a 3pm kick off.

This is before they take on Haringey Borough at Coles Park Stadium four days later (Tuesday, July 18 - 7:45pm kick off).

Spartan South Midland Premier Division side Sun Sports will also host the Towners on Thursday, July 20 kicking off at 7:45pm.

Enfield will then host their first home game of the friendlies against Skelmersdale.

This takes place before they face three more away trips to Cheshunt, Highgate and Heybridge Swifts on Tuesday, July 25, Saturday, July 29 and Tuesday, August 1 respectively.

Two matches at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium have been scheduled for Saturday, August 5 and Tuesday, August 8.

The opponents are yet to be confirmed.
