Enfield Town gained a vital three points in their 3-1 victory over Grays Athletic in their final visit to Mill Field of the season in the Ryman Premier League.

The Towners started well when Scott Shulton forced a corner in the third minute which was taken by Nathan Livings. However, home keeper Amadou Tangara was equal to the effort.

A minute later, Gray's Etienne Kabobola tried a chip but the bail sailed over the top just before Harry Ottaway's shot was turned behind by Tangara from a Livings free-kick.

The opening goal arrived in the 15th minute when Ottaway unsuccessfully tried to pick out Mickey Parcell, however, Shulton latched onto the loose ball, evading three defenders before planting the ball past Tangara's right-hand.

And it was not before long that Enfield doubled their lead. Parcell was played in by Ottaway and found himself with only the keeper to beat. The Grays keeper came off his line to smother the ball but it bounced up for Parcell who in turn squared it Shulton who forced it over the line for his second of the match.

The two-goal lead was halved in the 22nd minute when a corner from the left was only half cleared and centre back Chidi Williams-Agunabor reacted quickest to side foot in through a crowded box.

Undeterred by the host's goal, Town went back on the offensive and Livings only just failed to play in Shulton once again.

The home side tried to find an equaliser and Isaac Layne came close just before the break when he cut inside but Ricky Gabriel defended well to keep out his shot.

Athletic started the second half in a positive fashion with Layne firing just over from a Nathan Campbell pass early on.

Joe Payne then tried to go for goal but his high effort did not trouble Nathan McDonald in the Town goal.

Tyler Campbell thought he would find the visitors third but it was saved as they continued to pile on the pressure.

And 10 minutes from time, the game was put to bed when Ottaway converted from close range after Harold Joseph had won the ball in the air following a corner.

And Enfield could have made it four when Tangara almost lost the ball to Trey Williams whilst dribbling out of his area but he managed to hold clear the impending danger.
