Harry Winks is reportedly close to earning an England call-up after his impressive displays for Tottenham Hotspur.
The 21-year-old missed out on selection for the Three Lions’ friendly with Germany and world Cup Qualifier against Lithuania.
He is instead involved with the under-21 set-up as they take on Germany and Denmark.
He is, however, well thought of by England boss Gareth Southgate, who is said to admire the midfielder’s composure.
A product of the Spurs academy, Winks has made rapid progress this season and is the latest talent to benefit from Mauricio Pochettino’s faith in youngsters.
Winks has 32 appearances to his name this season, but only two of his 20 Premier League outings have come as a starter.
He marked his maiden league start with a goal in Spurs’ 3-2 win over West Ham United in November, and is the first choice replacement when Moussa Dembele or Victor Wanyama are unavailable.
