Enfield Town may feel like they dropped two points after their 3-3 draw with play-off rivals Needham Market on Saturday in the Ryman Isthmian Football League.

An entertaining game ended all square at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium with most of the action taking place in the opening 45.

In the third minute, a half-clearance fell for Billy Crook who rifled in an unstoppable opener.

But just seven minutes later Needham was on level terms after goalkeeper Nathan McDonald brought down Reece Dobson and Callum Harrison put the resulting penalty away.

It soon became 2-1 to the visitors when Dobson slotted the ball into the back of the net following a slick move down the middle.

Bobby Devyne had a chance to make it 2-2 from a cut-back from Tyler Campbell but the former’s shot was blocked.

Mickey Parcell had a left-footed effort just fly over and at the other end, Jack Curtis was only just off target for the Marketmen.

A home equaliser wasn’t long in coming and on the half-hour mark Crook whipped in a corner for Harry Ottaway to head the ball home.

Town had a great opportunity to retake the lead but Ottaway could only manage to fire over the top.

But their patience prevailed and they were rewarded when Mickey Parcell converted Devyne’s pass to put them 3-2 ahead.

In the second half, the hosts dominated for the majority of the final 45 but they failed to capitalise on their array of chances.

Needham started to show on the break particularly when Daryll Coakley’s effort was fractionally off target.

And the single-goal advantage proved to be insufficient as striker John Sands was on hand to net the equaliser with three minutes left on the clock.
