Enfield Borough was knocked out of the South Midlands Football League Division Two Trophy after losing 4-3 to Aston Clinton on Saturday.
It has been a mixed week of results for the Enfield-based club having progressed in the Middlesex Cup after beating Kensington Dragons 2-1 at the end of last month.
Despite being ravaged by injuries, Aston made a flying start and was 2-0 ahead inside 25 minutes thanks to Lewis Workman.
Borough went into the game on the back of a 16-game unbeaten run and they got one back to halve the deficit before the break.
Enfield found the equaliser early on in the second half through a free-kick but the scores being level was short lived.
Aston quickly re-established their lead once again through a Workman double to take the score to 4-2.
Borough scored late on but Aston held on for the win.
Romoney Crichlow-Noble, Alfie Hatch and Jamiah Plentie-Lawrence were on the scoresheet for Enfield.
