Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino says Harry Kane is once again firing all cylinders after the striker grabbed a brace in a commanding win over Swansea.

Kane was on target twice in Tottenham’s dominant 5-0 victory at White Hart Lane, and Pochettino believes his number 10 is finding his form after an early season injury layoff.

The England man damaged his knee ligaments in a 1-0 win over Sunderland in September.

Kane, who signed a new deal with the club until 2022 on Thursday, was sidelined by the injury for more than six weeks.

However, since returning to the team in the North London derby last month, he has scored six times in five games.

Pochettino said the striker had been working on consistency and fitness in the past week, following Spurs’ 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last Saturday.

The Tottenham manager said: “I feel after his injury it was good for him to work with consistency and I think that the last week was important for his to work on his fitness.”

Swansea had little answer to the Spurs onslaught at White Hart Lane, with Christian Eriksen’s double and a superb strike from Heung-Min Son adding to Kane’s goals.

The visitors managed one shot on goal throughout the entire match- a header from Jay Fulton which sailed way wide of the target.

Although the Swans made it easy for Tottenham, Pochettino stressed the importance of getting back to winning ways after two disappointing defeats last week.

Spurs were dumped out of the Champions League by Monaco, before losing their unbeaten Premier League record to Chelsea four days later.

He added: “We fully deserved the result. We dominated, we created chances- they did not shoot, they did not create chances.

“But I think it was a very good performance, 5-0, happy for the three points and happy because after Monaco and Chelsea we needed a result like today.”
