Enfield Borough recorded a 2-0 victory over Grendon Rangers in the Spartan South Midlands League Division Two Cup.

Hosts Borough dominated from the off but Guy Kiangebeni, Brian Tshibangu and Tom Opoku failed to capitalise on their chances.

But Henderson Browne broke the deadlock when he turned the ball into the top corner from the edge of the area.

The second half started in a similar fashion to the first but it was the visitors who looked as though they might be the next to score.

Rangers had a good chance to equalise, capitalising on a mistake from the Enfield defence, but Milvydas Lukosius made the save.

The hosts doubled their lead in the 70th minute after a long ball from Alfie Hatch found Browne, who stroked home the finish.

Manager Marvin Walker said: “There was some brilliant individual performances today but most importantly we played very well as a team. The score was only 2-0 but it was a very one-sided game. If we play like that, nine times out of 10 we will get the result we want.”
