Cairo Sango had to produce a sizzling solo performance to ensure Enfield Ignatians secured a point in their 52-29 defeat against unbeaten Belsize Park in London Two North West on Saturday.
Park’s quick off-loading repeatedly hurt the hosts in a one-sided first-half display as the visitors garnered a 38-3 lead.
The Blue and Golds’ only points came from a Jake Bates penalty.
However, it was a different story in the second half as Ignatians refused to keel over.
Sango led the charge, opening his account when he latched on to a neat kick from George Cox.
The flying wingers show got better and better with his second try beginning in his own half.
For the 18-years-old’s third score, he latched on to a Keir Bonnar off-load to ensure his side at least took something out of the game and his fourth came laced with three successful Bates conversions.
Captain Bonnar said: “We stood back in the first half and showed the opposition far too much respect.
“The second half was a vast improvement but we need to deliver a full 80-minute display.”
