Enfield-born Chris Walker-Hebborn finished sixth in the semi-finals of the men’s 100m backstroke at the Rio Olympics yesterday.

The 26-year-old was third in his heat after recording a time of 53.54 to secure his place in the semi-final.

Walker-Hebborn needed to finish in the top four to advance to the final. But he was sixth after clocking a time of 53.75.
