Enfield Ignatians Under-14s followed up their league win against Hertford B by defeating Harlow 24-22 in an exciting encounter.

Trailing 22-17 going to the final minute, the visiting blue and golds drew level with a last gasp try. It got even better after Daniel Reading's successful conversion - his second of the afternoon - tipped the balance Ignatians' way in a see-saw contest.

Ignatians' four try scorers were Jamal Daley-Bonner, Ryan Loo and Ben Phillips (two).

The Under-18s blew their chances after they let slip a golden opportunity after losing 20-19 to Datchworth at Donkey Lane.

The hosts led for most of the game and tries from Frazer Briers, Donny Noble and Kuba Glowacz, combined to two Alex Bucknall conversions, gave Ignatians a 19-10 lead midway through the second half.

However, Ignatians were also complacent and they were punished for some sloppy play after two late tries from the Hertfordshire visitors.

Coach Steve Renny said: "I thought we gifted Datchworth the game. We started well but let ourselves down through a combination of poor tackling, giving away penalties and some silly mistakes."

The Ignatians Under-15s were involved in Herts-Middlesex Division Four league action against Barnet and were beaten 33-17.

Trailing 21-12 going to the interval, Ignatians pulled to within four points in the second-half, but Barnet redoubled their efforts and two further tries from the visitors enabled them to pull clear.
