Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris looks set to miss the start of the season after breaking his wrist ahead of his return for pre-season.
The French international could be sidelined for up to three months and is now a serious doubt for the start of the new Premier League campaign, which gets underway at Manchester United on August 8.
Lloris, who signed a five-year contract extension at White Hart Lane last summer, has been heavily linked with a move to United during the off-season.
But any move will be put on hold after news of the break. A short statement released by Spurs read:
"The France goalkeeper will continue to work alongside the first Team squad to build up his fitness in a bid to be ready for the start of the season.
"Our medical team will continue to monitor his rehabilitation and progress during pre-season."
