Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Alex Pritchard has been forced to pull out of the England Under-21 squad after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday's win over Sweden at the European Championships.
The 22-year-old was withdrawn early in the second half after damaging ligaments in his right ankle and has now been ruled out of the rest of the competition in the Czech Republic.
England face Italy in their final Group B fixture on Wednesday without the diminutive playmaker, who spent last season on loan at Championship side Brentford helping the Bees to the play-offs.
Pritchard is the third member of Gareth Southgate's Young Lions squad to suffer injury already.
West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino has returned to England with a knee problem and Everton defender John Stones is back in training after suffering a concussion which has ruled him out of the tournament thus far.
Competition rules prohibit head coach Southgate from calling a replacement into his squad.
