Frank Buglioni insists he is “levels” above rival Lee Markham and has promised a demolition job when the pair meet at Wembley Arena in July in a rematch.

The Enfield super-middleweight (16-1-1) met ‘Banjo’ Markham (14-2-1) at the beginning of May but they could not be separated as the bout finished in a split draw.

Both men stated their desire afterwards for a rematch and the rivalry – which stems from their amateur days – will now run to a fourth instalment after it was announced they would meet again on Friday, July 24.

Buglioni said: “I will be coming at Markham full force this time and not leave it to the judges so there won’t be a third fight.

“Full credit to him, he showed great heart and determination and I’ve got a lot of respect for him, I know he’s going to bring that again, but he can’t box any better than that and I’m levels above him.”

He continued: “I have seen his weaknesses up close and this time around I will fully exploit them. I will be out to do a demolition job on him once and for all and get him out of the way.

“It was a great fight for our fans last time and this time it is going to be even bigger,” promised the ‘Wise Guy’.

Buglioni and Markham twice met as amateurs, clinching a win apiece, and speaking after their draw at the beginning of the month, the Winchmore Hill-born puncher promised a bigger and better fight next time around.

He stated: “We both wanted this fight for a long time and now our promoters have worked on this so we is more than likely a rematch will happen.

“It will be even bigger this time around too, because people know we let our fists do the talking.”

And Markham insists he will not leave the result to the fate of the scorecards for a second time.

He said: “Buglioni can’t get any fitter than he did for that last fight and he couldn’t handle the pace I set from the first bell.

“He likes to try and look pretty boxing from long range but I didn’t let him do it and made him fight which he couldn’t handle and I hurt him. The only thing different he can do is change his tactics, but I have got his number and I’ll be even fitter and stronger.

“I want this to be the final time we meet and I’ve got no intention on leaving it to go to the scorecards. I’ll finish him off so I can get on with my career.”

The clash will headline the Queensberry Promotions show which sees Mitchell Smith defending his WBO Intercontinental Super-Featherweight strap and super-bantamweight Lewis Pettitt challenges for the vacant WBO European title.
