Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose could be in line to earn his first senior England cap after being drafted into Roy Hodgson's squad following the withdrawal of Luke Shaw.

The 24-year-old has won 19 Under-21 caps and although he has been called into the full squad previously, has yet to make his debut for the Three Lions.

Rose has been called up for England's 2016 European Championships qualifier against Lithuania and a friendly tussle against Italy after Manchester United left-back Shaw pulled out due to injury.

England host Lithuania at Wembley Stadium on Friday 28 before travelling to Italy on Tuesday 31 at the Juventus Stadium.

Rose will go up against Leighton Baines and Kieran Gibbs to earn his first England cap. He joins Spurs team-mates Harry Kane and Kyle Walker in Hodgson's squad.
