Emmanuel Adebayor's proposed move from Tottenham Hotspur to Parma has collapsed due to his wage demands, according to the London Evening Standard.

The 30-year-old striker, who has not featured for Mauricio Pochettino's side since November, had been in talks with the Serie A side over a possible switch.

However the Togolese looks set to remain at White Hart Lane for the time being after talks broke down owing to the striker's wage demands.

It is understood Adebayor earns in excess of £100,000 a week at Spurs - a figure which Parma are unable to match.

Adebayor has scored twice in 12 appearances for Spurs this term, with his last outing coming at home to Stoke City at the beginning of November.

The former Arsenal and Manchester City hitman has also been linked with a move to MLS this January.
