Enfield table tennis ace Denise Payet competed against the best young players in England at the Junior Masters tournament.
The 13-year-old was up against 11 other top-ranked English girls, with competitors meeting each other once in a round-robin format.
She was the fourth seed for the event in Harlow and won six of her 11 matches to finish in seventh place – a good achievement by the youngest competitor at the tournament, who was four years younger than some players.
The event was won by national junior champion Maria Tsaptsinos, who won all 11 matches without dropping a set.
Payet said: “My results were ok. It’s a good competition to play in because you don’t get any easy matches and that helps me when I play in European competitions.”
