Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor could leave White Hart Lane on loan in the January transfer window after returning from compassionate leave, according to reports.

The former Arsenal and Manchester City striker, who has returned from compassionate leave in Togo, has failed to impress head coach Mauricio Pochettino, according to the Daily Mirror.

Adebayor is therefore one of a number of senior players who would be free to leave Spurs in the January transfer window, if a suitor can be found.

His reported £100,000 a week wage packet could prove problematic for interested parties, with Spurs prepared to let the Togolese international depart on loan if necessary.

Also deemed surplus to requirements in north London are defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto and midfielder Mousa Dembele.

Adebayor has scored just twice in 12 outings for Pochettino's side this season, with his last goal coming at the end of October.
