Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend has been called up for England for their 2016 European Championships qualifiers against San Marino and Estonia.
Selected by Roy Hodgson, Townsend will be involved with the likes of Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck, Aston Villa’s Fabian Delph, Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling and Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney.
The 23-year-old, who has represented England at Under-16, U-17, U-19 and U-21 levels, was ruled out of the World Cup this summer after undergoing ankle surgery but will look to start for the Three Lions next week.
Gareth Southgate has also selected his Under-21 team to play in the Euro 2015 play-off against Croatia on Friday, October 10.
Spurs defender Eric Dier and forward Harry Kane are in the line-up alongside Arsenal’s Calum Chambers and Manchester United’s Luke Shaw.
