Enfield and Haringey’s Desiree Henry was part of the Team GB women’s team which qualified for the 4x100m relay finals in a season’s best time at the European Championships this evening.

Meanwhile, club-mate Margaret Adeoye helped Team GB’s 4x400m team into their final.

Eighteen-year-old Henry, along with Asha Philip, Ashleigh Nelson and Anyika Onoura, reached Sunday’s final by winning heat two in a time of 42.62.

Ukraine qualified in second place, crossing the line in 43.37, whilst Russia secured their place in third with 43.37 also.

The final in Zurich takes place at 5.22pm tomorrow (Sunday).

Adeoye was also part of a successful Team GB relay team, securing a place in the 4x400m final.

The 29-year-old sealed a final berth by finishing second to Russia in heat two in a time of 3.28.44.

Poland took the third automatic qualifying spot in 3.29.79. The final is scheduled for 3.22pm tomorrow.

For the men, Enfield and Haringey club-mate Chijindu Ujah was not part of the Team GB 4x100m relay team which reached the final of the men’s competition.

Ujah will hope to be selected for tomorrow’s final, which gets underway at 5.05pm.
