Trent Park Running Club’s ladies team recorded first ever win

Trent Park Running Club’s ladies team recorded their first ever victory in the Chingford League on Saturday.

Trent Park were hosting the second race of the season, a 9k route which was muddy under foot and involved several steep climbs.

With 161 runners, the ladies team came out on top with Lisa Elmore finishing second in a time of 31.19. Jane Studd was close behind in fourth clocking in at 32.23 while Alex Baird finished sixth.

The men’s team also performed well with Peter Williams, Adam Bowman and Scott Aiken all making the top 11 and there were also strong displays from the juniors as Trent Park Young Athletes David Gaskin and Jade Dos Santos won both the races in their age group.

The next race in the Chingford League is the 5k Hogg Hill circuit on Tuesday, November 6.

Trent Park hope to field an even stronger team for the event as regular marathon runners racing this weekend in Abingdon and Amsterdam, return to the fold.
