Spurs are reportedly keen on young Dutch sensation Jordy Clasie, as Daniel Levy continues to look for a long-term successor to the recently departed Luka Modric.
Clasie, 21, recently won his first international caps for Holland and is rated as one of the most promising playmakers in Europe.
The youngster, who likes to play a deep-lying role, has risen through the ranks at Feyenoord after he joined the club at the age of nine.
Spurs are looking to add a midfield architect to the ranks after they sold Modric in the summer to Real Madrid.
Andre Villas-Boas' number one target, Joao Moutinho, slipped through Levy's grasp on the last day of the transfer window and it is thought the Spurs Chairman would be loath to reignite negotiations with Porto in January.
More likely, and more economical, would be Clasie who could be available for as as little as £5m.
In his brief career in the Eredivisie, Clasie has scored five goals and notched 13 assists.
