Tottenham Hotspur target Isco could leave Malaga as soon as January if his £17m buyout clause is activated, according to sporting director Mario Husillos.
The attacking midfielder has scored three goals in nine appearances this season, two of which came in Malaga's 3-0 win over Zenit in the Champions League.
The 20-year-old's performances have been noticed all over Europe, not least at White Hart Lane.
Technical director Tim Sherwood has been to watch Isco more than once this season already and has advised Andre Villas-Boas and Daniel Levy to make a move.
Malaga are not interested in selling their young star but could be powerless to let him leave.
"He is our player and he is important for the team. He is not on the market," Husillos told tuttomercatoweb.com.
"We want to keep him here but you all know there is a buyout clause in his contract. So, if a club pay the clause, it does not depend on us anymore."
Isco meanwhile has himself reiterated his commitment to Malaga but it is thought he would be open to a move to one of Europe's elite.
Tottenham may struggle to persuade the Spaniard to move to a club not competing in the Champions League, but should Spurs be in the top four come January Levy hopes Isco could be convinced.
"Malaga is on everyone's mouth now because because of great displays in the Champions League," Isco said.
"Besides, I have had two good performances and that's why my name has been heard more than anyone. I just have my mind in Malaga."
