The league season maybe over but Northampton Exiles A XI completed a seven-wicket victory in a friendly against Southgate Compton.
Having put Southgate into bat, Exiles performed well with the ball as their varied attack restricted the home side to a final total of 170 for nine off their allotted 40 overs.
Astley Tomlinson was the top wicket taker for Exiles as he dismissed three batsmen.
After Northampton lost a couple of early wickets, Nikesh Shah came to the crease. Alongside captain Richard Cashman the duo put on a partnership of 150 for the third wicket.
Shah struck an impressive 106 not out while Cashman fell just one short of his half century on 49.
However, Shah finished the job with six overs to spare as Exiles recorded victory.
