Enfield Ignatians victorious in final friendly

Enfield Ignatians' final warm-up match ended with a morale-boosting 29-15 victory over UCS OId Boys at Donkey Lane.
UCS, coming off a win against Hertford Seconds last time out, successfully weathered Ignatians’ pressure in the first and second quarters before striking back to lead 15-0 at the interval.
However, it was a completely different story in the third and fourth periods as Ignatians clicked into gear by running in 29 unanswered points to secure a deserved victory for the hosts.
Tan Mbonu sent Ignatians on their way by claiming an interception try and the Blue and Golds further asserted their dominance as Keir Bonnar, Hadee Fayaz and Ed Barker all went over for the home side.
Ignatians coach Emile Hertz said: “We lacked intensity in the first half and it was all a bit lacklustre and flat.
“However, Tan Mbonu’s try gave us a massive lift and we played some great rugby in the second half.”
