Northampton Exiles slip to bottom of the Herts Cricket League Division Three table

Northampton Exiles sit bottom of Herts Cricket League Division Three, after suffering a six-wicket defeat against North Enfield.
After being put into bat, Exiles struggled to 142 all out with Shaun Lawler top scoring on 26. David Taylor (23) and Rizwan Badar (22) also added decent knocks but it was going to be difficult for
Exiles to defend.
With the ball, Exiles began strongly as Harit Patel (one for 21) and Mehul Shah (one for 34) reduced North Enfield to 25 for two.
However, North Enfield regrouped and batted well to claim victory wth 12 overs to spare.
Northampton Exiles Seconds are also in a relegation battle as they were beaten by six-wickets by Bayford and Hertford Seconds.
Exiles were skittled for just 81, only Bernie Bower (38) and Steve Plum (13) reached double figures for Exiles.
Despite the efforts of Corin Hosier (two for29), Ali Awan (one for 12) and Jason Manning (one for 20), Bayford reached their target with ease.
In Division 11, Northampton Exiles Thirds kept up their promotion challenge after claiming a draw against Knebworth Park Fifths.
Imran Adil (50), Mark Chakravarti (34), Prasad Manjrekar (31) and Hamza Razzaq (32) all contributed to a total of 201.
Park totalled 180 for seven in their reply but Exiles weren’t able to claim the vital wickets to take victory, Hamza Razzaq (four for 55) the pick of the Northampton bowlers.
