Enfield’s patchy form continued as they lost by 41-runs at Barnes in Middlesex County Cricket League Division Three.

Barnes were bowled out for 201 with Lee Robertson Enfield’s most successful bowler, finishing with five for 53 from 12.2 overs.

With 53 overs at their disposal, Enfield were soon in trouble at three for two. Skipper Neil Tilley made 29 and Andrew Mitcheson backed that up with a knock of 41.

Darran Greene also contributed a defiant 19 not out, but Barnes clinched victory with 12 overs to spare as Enfield were dismissed for 160.

Meanwhile, Enfield Seconds sunk to the bottom of the table after losing by seven wickets against Edmonton Seconds at Lincoln Road.

Enfield declared on 222 for nine from 40 overs with Nimo Ahmed top scoring with 53. Linserd Miller took five for 61 for Edmonton and they eased to victory.

Unbeaten Enfield Thirds remain top of 1987 League Division Two after completing an eight wicket win against Ealing Fifths.
