Spurs defender Ryan Nelsen has agreed a deal to join Queens Park Rangers from July 1.

The 34-year-old’s current deal will expire with Tottenham at the end of the month and he will then reunite with Mark Hughes at Loftus Road.

Nelsen was signed by Hughes at Blackburn Rovers in 2005 and will skipper New Zealand at this summer’s London 2012 Olympics.

He began last season with Rovers and joined Spurs earlier this year, but his move across the capital brings an end to his brief spell at White Hart Lane.
