Town to face Norwich (From Enfield Independent)

Enfield Town will host Premier League side Norwich City as part of pre-season preparations

Steve Newing’s Enfield Town will welcome Premier League Norwich City to the Queen Elizabeth Stadium as part of their pre-season campaign.

The Towners enjoyed a promotion-winning season last time out and the visit of the Canaries will provide the highlight of their preparations for life in the Ryman Premier Division.

Norwich will visit Donkey Lane on Saturday July 28 in a fixture sandwiched by trips to Ryman Division One North pair Cheshunt and Potters Bar.

The first game sees the Towners take on Blue Square Bet Premier side Wrexham in the Supporters Direct Cup, while home ties with St Albans City and Boreham Wood complete the schedule.

Enfield’s friendlies arranged so far are as follows:

Sunday July 8 - Wrexham (h) KO tba.

Sunday July 22 - Cheshunt (a) KO 3pm.

Saturday July 28 - Norwich City (h) KO 3pm.

Saturday August 4 - Potters Bar (a) KO 3pm.

Tuesday August 7 – St Albans City (h) KO 7:45pm (provisional).

Saturday August 11 - Boreham Wood (h) KO 3pm.
