Southgate Adelaide stormed into third and kept the pressure on table topping local rivals Northampton Exiles with a three wicket win over Radlett at the Walker Ground on Saturday.

Skipper Matt Fitzpatrick won the toss and on a wicket spiced up by the morning rain, Australian seamer Brian Cohen did the damage with 5-56.

He was backed up by Liam Farrell with 3-23, as the visitors were dismissed for 162.

In reply, Adelaide had a nightmare start with Craig Lyte being dismissed second ball. However, Matt Fitzpatrick with 30 and Richard Ellwood with a fine 64 ensured the Adders got themselves into a good position before Farrell capped an excellent all round perforamnce by hitting 28 not out to seal victory.

Next week Adelaide visit Watton at Stone.

Meanwhile, Adelaide's third team got off the bottom of Herts Division Eleven with a win away at Frogmore on Saturday.

On a lively track, skipper Charlie Ashmore inserted the home team and despite a wicket with the first ball of the game, the home side were soon rattling away at eight an over.

However, the introduction of the slow left armer Martin Flack put the brakes on as he picked up 4-34 off 18 overs as Frogmore finished on 157-9.

In reply Brett Irwin gave the Adders a great start before falling to a brilliant catch, and the Adders were in a bit of trouble at 90-4 needing seven an over on a difficult wicket.

However, experienced duo Andy Wheaton (28) and Daniel Whiting with good running and boundaries when needed, saw them home, as they timed the finish perfectly with two overs to spare, with Whiting finishing up on 86 not out.
