Juventus continue to be linked with a move for Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele, amid reports in Italy that suggest the Turin club will renew efforts to sign the 30-year-old Belgian.

With just a year to run on his current deal, the Belgium international, who is currently preparing for their World Cup opener against Panama, has alerted potential suitors by confirming that he has no plans to open new contract talks until after the tournament has concluded.

And, having impressed for Spurs against Juventus in last season’s Champions League, it appears that the Italian giants are considering strengthening their midfield options.

Any move would follow hot on the heels of the expected arrival of Emre Can from Liverpool, and the Serie A champions are rumoured to see Dembele as an ideal fit.

It is unlikely though, that Tottenham will willingly part with a player who remains a key part of manager Mauricio Pochettino’s plans. But should contract talks stall, chairman Daniel Levy may be tempted to part ways for a fee rather than risk losing the midfielder for nothing in 12 months time.

Dembele moved to the club in 2012 for £15 million from London neighbours Fulham and has since gone on to make 232 appearances in all competitions, scoring 10 goals.
