Enfield continued their successful start to the Middlesex League season with a 97-run victory against Eastcote on Saturday.

After winning the toss, captain Kyal Bacchus-Brown decided to bat first on a sunny day at Lincoln Road.

After losing Jack Plumb (20), the innings was propelled by a 200-run partnership between Les Edwards (125) and Rehan Hassan (106) as Enfield eventually posted a formidable 302-5 in their allocated 45 overs.

Eastcote were never really in the hunt in reply as early wickets, for Faisal Mir (1-16) and Arthur George (2-31), left them well behind the required run rate.

Dan Amedee (2-47), Patrick Blair (0-31) and Hassan (5-34) then combined to ensure the visitors finished well short on 205 all out to keep Enfield as joint leaders of Division Two.

The centuries continued the following day when Actonians visited Lincoln Road in the third round of the Middlesex Cup.

After the hosts were initially reduced to 40-2, Australian Sam Smyth and Hassan combined to rip the heart out of the attack, adding 266 for the third wicket.

Hassan (126) excelled in scoring his second century of the weekend but again had to play second fiddle as his teammate unveiled his full range of shots in a breathtaking 192 from just 121 deliveries to enable his side to post a huge 395-4 in 45 overs.

Actonians' response faltered early as Edwards (3-26) bowled well and, despite some big hitting by the middle order, the visitors could only muster 230-9 as Enfield secured victory by a hefty 165-run margin.

Winchmore Hill notched their first Division Two win of the season as they got the better of Osterley by four wickets.

Hill had their opponents firmly on the back foot at 13-3, and then 66-5, before 62 from Hameed Ahmedzai enabled Osterley to reach 180-9.

Jack Irwin was the most successful of the bowlers with 4-30 after Jack Henson (3-23) had made the bulk of the early inroads.

The Osterley bowlers also enjoyed success with the ball but Jim Gatting's 62 was pivotal in seeing his side to victory.

Southgate Adelaide enjoyed a record-breaking day as they demolished Langleybury Seconds by a huge 213 runs in Division Three B of the Herts League.

The club's biggest-ever winning margin was founded on a record total of 379-5 in 50 overs before they dismissed their opponents for 166.

Andy Ferguson (32) and Craig Lyte (41) got Southgate off to a good start as they reached 97-2, but it was a 221-run third-wicket partnership that was the foundation for the record-breaking afternoon.

The stand came to an end after Tariq Mahmood had compiled a 76-ball 114, while Jake Agar was to fall one run later after making 98 off 75 deliveries.

Anthony Morris (3-26), Raja Zaheer Abrar (2-29) and Neil Watts (2-50) then took the bulk of the wickets as the visitors were dismissed in 31.2 overs.
