International cricket stars will be coming to North London on Friday, June 1 as the famous Lashings World XI play at the Walker Ground.

Test cricketers from India, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, New Zealand and England will take on Southgate Adelaide CC in a Twenty20 match with gates open at 2.30pm.

Club chairman Dan Whiting said: “It is a great opportunity to encourage cricket into the local community, which is why we have offered children entry for just £1.

"It is the biggest day in the club’s history, with some outstanding cricketers on show at our beautiful ground. We are expecting a large crowd and it should be a fantastic event for the people of Southgate.”

With players such as West Indian Fidel Edwards throwing down his 90mph thunderbolts and Indian test opener Wasim Jaffer peppering the streets of N14 with his strokeplay, a big crowd is expected in Southgate.

A bar, food and entertainment are on offer as well as a chance to meet world class cricket stars.

Tickets are just £5 for adults and a Kid for a Quid scheme is in operation during the half term.
