Enfield Ignatians youngster and first team squad member Ethan Renny successfully donned the green of Hertfordshire Under-20s age group in their 57-7 win over Essex.

Remny played most of the game before being replaced on 65 minutes.

The combined Under-17 and Under-16 age group continued their unbeaten run after the blue and golds lorded the 'Derby' encounter with Barnet 22-5 at Donkey Lane.

Three of the tires were claimed by their Middlesex county players, which included Finlay MacKay and Frazer Briers whose first-tries were instrumental in sharing a 10-0 half-time lead.

Angelo Dineen went over for the third before hooker Mason Collom rounded off the matters in style. Conor McDermott added a conversion but it was Barnet which had the final word after scoring two minutes from time.

Team spokesman Steve Renny said: "I think that the boys thought they were going to win easily, and they didn't have the intensity so apparent against Eton Manor a week earlier.

"However, we had good numbers (22) in our squad and everyone got a game.

"Our opponents, Barnet, as befits most of their sides, were very well drilled, organised and they caused us a few problems at the breakdown.

"However, our defence was good and we kept them out until the final minutes."
